Power Interface

Overview

The Power Input Interface is a single connector that provides power to the digital board.

Electrical Connections

Pins 1 (V_BATT) and 2 (GND) provide power to the OEM board. The allowable input range is 12–38 V, with a nominal expected voltage of 24 V. Refer to the digital board connector locations figure for the connector's physical location.

Hardware Components

The Power Input Interface uses a Molex Mini-Fit Jr. connector, P/N 0039013022, or equivalent. The recommended contacts are Molex P/N 0039000074, suitable for 18–24 AWG wire. They can be crimped with Molex hand tool 0638190901; pre-crimped leads may also be used.

Mating Cable Notes

  • 18 AWG wire is preferred to reduce power losses during modem operation.
  • Attach or detach the interface only while power is disconnected from the OEM modem to avoid electrical damage.
